The C.M. Russell Museum is once again offering great summer fun and learning opportunities at the Russell's Round-up Summer Day Camps. This year, we are pleased to be partnering with Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art.
For children entering grades 5 through 9, the week-long camps will be held three times: June 18-22; July 9-13; and August 6-10. After spending the mornings at Paris Gibson Square, the campers will be escorted as they walk over to the Russell Museum for the afternoons.
At Paris Gibson Square, artist/instructor Sarah Rowely will guide campers through the art of printmaking. Each project will be based on the popular "Fast, Functional, and Fun" Motorcycle Exhibit. The activities at the Russell Museum will be devoted to three areas that Charlie Russell focused on in his work: wildlife, Native American culture, and cowboys. Noted area painter and popular teacher Bob Kercher will direct these classes, teaching campers how to paint with watercolors. Other activities include learning about the life and culture of the old West as well as Charlie Russell's art.
The cost of the all-day camp is $115 for the week, and includes lunch. Snacks and supplies are all included in the cost of the camp. Half-day camp is also available at either museum. Cost is $50 and includes snacks and supplies. Lunch is not included in the half-day camp.
