GREAT FALLS – A 39-year tradition reached a milestone Wednesday, when the Great Falls Advertising Federation (better known as Ad Club) presented the C.M. Russell Museum with the 2007 Russell Auction proceeds. This year’s check for $310,200 brought the cumulative Auction donation total to $5,154,103 – the largest contribution to the Museum by any single benefactor.
“It is amazing to see what 39 years of teamwork and dedication can result in,” stated Joe Fox, 2007 Auction Chair. “The Ad Club is extremely proud of what we put together every March, and we are excited to share our good fortune with the Russell Museum.”
The Auction is Ad Club’s largest fundraiser, with every member working in some capacity to make the event possible. The Auction was established by the Ad Club in 1969. In an effort to give back to the community, it was decided that a portion of the Auction’s proceeds would benefit the Museum. The first donation to the Museum was $10,872.
“The C.M. Russell Auction has helped the Museum become what it is today,” said Museum CEO Anne Morand. “Without the Ad Club’s generosity, the Museum would be a significantly different organization. We are very fortunate to have the continual support of Ad Club, and are very appreciative of this year’s gift.”
Ad Club has more than 200 members who are creators, users, buyers and sellers of advertising. Established in 1936, Ad Club is dedicated to furthering effective advertising, marketing, and public relations.
