Charlie's Friends of the C.M. Russell Museum
If you’re looking for a way to contribute to the C.M. Russell Museum and have a great time with others with similar interests, then joining Charlie’s Friends is the right choice for you! Charlie’s Friends is a membership opportunity that is meant to bring young people, professionals, and families together who have a love for the arts and the west. It was formed in 1991 as a membership support group for the Russell Museum for the purpose of promoting membership of younger adults in the Museum.
Charlie’s Friends actively work to offer social, cultural, and educational activities to stimulate interest and familiarity in the visual arts, promote and increase membership in the Museum, and to provide social opportunities for members of Charlie’s Friends. Some of the fun activities that Charlie’s Friends partake in include summer road trips to nearby points of interest, meet the artists socials and openings at the Museum, Friends @ 5 social gathering events, and hosting the annual Night at the Mint fund-raiser. They also provide a resource of volunteers for the numerous Museum events, including the annual Russell Auction, Holiday Open House, and Masters in Miniature Exhibition. Another goal of Charlie’s Friends is to develop and expand the contemporary western art collection for the Russell Museum’s permanent collection. The group has acquired major artworks by many artists, including Amy Burnett, George Gogas, Valentina LaPier, and Kevin Red Star.
Charlie’s Friends’ mission is to expand and diversify the membership of the C.M. Russell Museum by supporting and sponsoring educational, cultural, and social activities that promote the visual arts and the goals of the Museum. When the time comes to renew your Museum membership, please consider the supplemental Charlie’s Friends membership too.
